API (Application Programming Interface)
An API is a set of rules that lets two different programs exchange data and functions automatically, without manual intervention.
Business management software (gestionale)
Business management software - in Italy a "gestionale" - is the program a company uses to record and organize its day-to-day activities (customers, orders, stock, invoices) in one place instead of across scattered files.
Cloud computing
Cloud computing is the use of servers, storage and software hosted on the internet, accessed remotely instead of being installed and managed on your own computers and servers.
CMS (Content Management System)
A CMS is software that lets you create and update the content of a website, such as pages, text and images, without having to write code.
CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
A CRM is software that gathers all your information and interactions with customers and prospects in one place, so you can manage sales, contacts and relationships in an organized way.
Custom software
Custom software is a program developed specifically for the needs of one particular company, rather than bought ready-made and identical for everyone.
E-commerce
E-commerce is the selling of products or services online, through a website or app where customers can browse, order and pay without going to a physical store.
ERP (enterprise resource planning)
An ERP is an integrated management system that brings a company's core activities, such as orders, inventory, purchasing, accounting and production, together in a single platform.
Headless CMS
A headless CMS is a content management system that stores and delivers content through APIs, without handling how it's displayed, leaving the choice of website, app or channel that will use it open.
SaaS (Software as a Service)
SaaS is software you use over the internet on a subscription, without installing or maintaining it, because the provider takes care of that.
SEO (search engine optimization)
SEO is the set of activities that make a website easier for search engines to find and understand, so it appears among the results when people search for what you offer.
Software integration
Software integration is the connecting of two or more programs so they exchange data automatically and work as a single system, without copying and pasting by hand.
