Glossary
SEO (search engine optimization)
SEO is the set of activities that make a website easier for search engines to find and understand, so it appears among the results when people search for what you offer.
When a potential customer searches Google for a product or service like yours, they see a list of results. SEO is the work that helps your site appear higher in that list, for free and on an ongoing basis, without paying for each click as you would with advertising.
It rests on three aspects that work together: content (pages must clearly answer what people are searching for), the technical side (the site must be fast, readable on phones and free of errors) and reputation (other sites linking to yours signal that you are a trustworthy source).
SEO does not deliver results overnight: it is an investment that grows over time. But the traffic it generates is durable and does not stop the moment you stop paying, unlike paid ads.

Usually a few months: early signals on low-competition keywords can appear in 2-3 months, while highly searched terms often take 6-12 months of steady work.
